She is well known as Tinker Bell, Tinkerbell or Tink but to quote Shakespeare, “A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.” So, whichever name you prefer, it will refer to the same green magical fairy which appears right along the famous Peter Pan in a variety of stories. But what are the origins of this sweet little fairy?
Tinker Bell first appeared on the scene in “Peter and Wendy” which was first released as a theater production in 1904 and then as a novel in 1911. Both, by the way, were the brainchildren of a Scottish writer called J.M. Barrie.
Having gained a tremendous following very quickly, Tinker also appeared in many films and television adaptations of the story but the most famous among them was Walt Disney’s animated film that was released in 1953 and was named “Peter Pan.”
